Everything You Need to Know Before Booking Your Eyelash Extension Appointment
I have never really had long full lashes. Whoever thought up lash extensions WE THANK GOD FOR YOU! If you've ever wanted fuller, longer eyelashes you are not alone. There is a lash set for everyone (unless you have an allergy to the glue *insert crying emoji*) to get the lashes of their dreams. Eyelash extensions has the power to transform your face and make you throw away your falsies and mascara for good. Its an addiction. However, you may have a few questions/concerns before your alone in a room, with a stranger, eyes closed and there is tweezers, glues, and a foreign object near you eyes.

What are lash extensions?
Lash extensions are synthetic fibers that are attached to one single natural lash using medical grade adhesive. Classic lashes are 1:1 while volume lashes range 2:1 up to 6:1 in certain services. Lash extensions can come in a variety of thickness and lengths ranging from 6mm-18mm sometimes 20mm (which are superrrrrrr long) and few curl options.
Mascara and Eyelash Extensions?
The beauty of eyelash extensions is that you no longer need mascara. We dont recommend mascara with lash extensions firstly because the reason you got lash ext. is for fuller, darker lashes and it’s hard to remove and will cause the bond to breakdown resulting in you loosing lashes and money. Also, only use cleansers specifically formulated to be safe for eyelash extensions and look for a cleanser that contains tea tree oil. TLC Cleanser https://lashaffair.com/blogs/lash-client-blog/give-your-lashes-some-tlc by Lash Affair is awesome. Other products may contain ingredients that can weaken the bond of your lash extensions and cause them to shed prematurely! If you've made an investment in extensions in the first place, you damn sure don’t want to see them go to waste.

CLEAN YOUR LASHES!!!!
Water is you lash adhesives friend. Do not be afraid. Often clients think water will ruin their lashes so they wont wash them. Always follow the rule for not getting them wet for 24hrs, but after that clean them! Every other day is fine but if you wear eye make up the daily is best. Dead skin cells, dirt, makeup and oil will build up in your lash line very quickly! All this build up will eat away at your lash extension's bond, breaking it down over time. Poor cleansing can also cause lash mites which while not seen by the naked eye, your lash tech can see this under magnified light. Bottom line clean lashes benefits us all.
How often do you need to get lash extensions redone?
There is no need to get your lashes removed and redone. Natural lashes grow and shed with your natural hair cycle, so every time you go in for a fill, your lashes will differ for example fuller, longer or shorter. Refills however take more skill and expertise than a full set. The reason is because lashes are grown and have shed from different areas of the lid. Removing and replacing overgrown lashes and creating a balance. Refills are recommended every two to three weeks to keep your lashes looking lush and full. Conditioning serums are great for lash wearers to use in between appointments.
